Terms of Use

What this site is
FindThatThing is run by Mandar Ravindra Tayade, trading as FindThatThing. It is a directory: we identify products shown in Instagram reels and link to where you can buy them.
We do not sell anything. Every purchase happens on the retailer’s own site, under their terms, with their payment, their delivery and their returns policy. We are not a party to it, and we cannot cancel an order, chase a refund or resolve a dispute for you — the retailer is who to contact.
Using the site means these terms apply to you. If you do not agree with them, the remedy is simple: stop using it.
What we can and cannot promise about the information
We try hard to get product details right, and we get some of them wrong anyway. Listings are compiled from what is publicly visible and go out of date without warning.
Always check the price, the specification and the availability on the retailer’s page before you buy. That page is authoritative and this one is not. Where we show a price at all it is a snapshot from when we last looked, never a live quote and never an offer.
We do not track prices over time and we do not send price-drop alerts. That is a deliberate choice, not a missing feature.
How we make money
Many links here are affiliate links, mostly Amazon Associates. If you buy after following one, we may earn a commission from the retailer. It comes out of their marketing budget — you pay exactly what you would have paid going direct.
We are never paid by a brand to feature a product, and a commission does not buy a better position on this site. Where a commercial relationship exists we say so rather than leaving you to infer it.
What you send us
You can ask us to track down a product, and you can search. Both accept free text, and there are rules about what you put in them.
What you type is stored and read by a person. Requests are our to-do list — that is the whole point of the form — and a request may become a page on this site. Do not put anything in there you would not want kept.
Send only things you have the right to send. A public Instagram link is fine; anything from a private account, a closed group, a story or a direct message is not.
Do not send other people’s personal information — names, numbers, addresses, photographs of identifiable people who did not agree to it.
Nothing unlawful, and nothing abusive, hateful or harassing.
No advertising, no spam, and nothing sent by a bot or a script.
By sending us a reel link or a description, you allow us to store it, read it, and use it to build or improve a catalogue entry. You keep whatever rights you had; we are not claiming ownership of anything.
We can decline, edit or delete anything sent to us, for any reason and without explaining ourselves. There is no obligation on us to act on a request.
Using the site fairly
Browse as much as you like. What follows is about automated and abusive use, not ordinary reading.
No scraping, crawling or bulk copying of the catalogue, by any means. Search engines and the AI assistants we allow are covered separately and do not need permission.
No automated requests at a rate a person could not produce, and no attempt to work around the limits we apply.
No probing for weaknesses, no attempting to reach parts of the site not meant for you, and nothing designed to disrupt it for other people.
No copying substantial parts of our writing or our images to publish elsewhere. Linking to us, quoting us with credit, and sharing a page are all welcome.
No pretending to be us, and no using our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse something we do not.
When we block someone
Text typed into the site passes through an automated filter, and a connection that repeatedly trips it can be blocked temporarily — or permanently, if it keeps happening. Reading the site is never blocked this way; only sending things is.
If you think you have been blocked unfairly, email contact@findthatthing.shop and say so. A person will look at it. What we store when this happens, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy.
What belongs to whom
The writing, the layout, the name and the logo on this site are ours. Product names, brands and trade marks belong to their owners, and appear here to describe products, not to claim any association with them.
Instagram reels belong to the people who made them. We link to them and credit them; we do not host them and we claim no rights in them. If you are a creator and want a link to your reel removed, email contact@findthatthing.shop and we will take it down.
Links to other sites
Following a link off this site puts you in someone else’s hands. We do not control retailers, Instagram, or anywhere else we link to, and we are not responsible for their content, their practices or their privacy policies. Read their terms; they are the ones that apply once you are there.
The site is provided as it is
We make no promise that the site will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors. We may change it, take parts of it down, or stop running it entirely, without notice.
To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind about the site or anything on it.
What we are responsible for
We are not liable for anything that follows from using this site or relying on what it says — including a purchase that disappointed you, a price that had changed, or a product that was not what you expected. Those are between you and the retailer.
We are not liable for indirect or knock-on losses of any kind.
Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Where we are liable despite the above, our liability is capped at ₹1,000 — which is an honest reflection of a directory run by one person and paid for by affiliate commission, not an attempt to pretend nothing could go wrong.
Age
This site is not aimed at children. There are no accounts, no profiles and no advertising here, so there is nothing that follows anyone around. If you are under 18, do not send us anything through the request form.
Privacy
What we collect, what we deliberately do not collect, how long anything is kept and how to have it deleted are all in the privacy policy. It is part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We update these when the site changes, and the date at the top moves when we do. Carrying on using the site after that means the new version applies to you. There is no mailing list for this — the page is the notice.
Which law applies
Indian law governs these terms, and the courts at Bhandara, Maharashtra deal with any dispute arising from them.
Before anything formal, email contact@findthatthing.shop. Most things are a misunderstanding and get sorted out in a reply.
